30 ft Shock Leader - mono

30ft Shock leaders are used between the trolling weight and the lure for High Speed Wahoo trolling, but can also be used at regular speeds. They give good separation between the lure and weight reducing the chances of a strike on the weight and making it easier to leader and land the fish. 

Keep the boat in gear at all times during the fight to prevent slack, 5 knots minimum. Have the wireman ease the fish to the boat and gaff the fish in the head, chin or neck ONLY. Do not gaff the body of the fish. If possible use the transom door to slide the fish into the box, disconnect the lure from the leader and do not attempt to retrieve the lure until the fish is dead. 

Available in Mono or cable, comes rigged with chafe tube and a corkscrew swivel. Corkscrew style swivels are ideal for wahoo trolling, they can not be opened by the fish's tail and do not suffer from metal fatigue like snaps do.
